ElPal Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 Hi,5* hotel Opera- Grand BoulevardUsing your HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links as always I have been researching hotels in Paris for a stay from 4-11 March 2013.I note from your hotwire hotel list that there is not any 5* for this area listed so am curious if anyone knows which hotel this might be.Details given by Hotwire are:Price per room per night $317USD (Hotwire claims it is $572USD on other sites)."Our 5-star hotels include: Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts and other brand-name and independent hotels"This Hotel features the following amenities:Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services Free Internet Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking I have tried to cross-reference with the hotels on the hotwire but am not having any luck.If I look for a 5* with fitness centre, business centre, high speed internet and free internet I am given 3 options:Pullman Paris La Defense hotel - $216 per room per night (wrong zone and the price is lower than the "hot rate" so I figure it can't be this one)Sofitel Paris La Defense hotel - $233 per room per night (wrong zone and the price is lower than the "hot rate" so I figure it can't be this one)Hotel du Louvre -$304 per room per night (wrong zone - I assume this would be Louvre Marais?) (also the rate is lower than the "hot rate".Curiously, when I add "in-room accessibility" it shows only the Pullman Paris La Defense.Anyone have any ideas?
ElPal Posted August 5, 2012 Author Report Posted August 5, 2012 I have (as always) used your HOTWIRE links and was wondering if anyone could help me ID the following hotel for 4-11 March 2013. I am wondering based on the fact that your HOTWIRE hotel list has Novotel Paris Les Halles on it and that the hotels are said to include the Novotel if it would be that hotel. PARIS - 4* Louvre-Marais HotelPrice: $167USD per night (stated as $356USD per night)Our 4-star hotels include: Omni Hotels & Resorts Hilton Hotels & Resorts Sheraton Hotels & Resorts Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts Novotel Hotels Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts The amenities listed by Hotwire are:Airport Shuttle Smoke Free Rooms Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Free Internet When I put in a 4* and all of the above amenities (except laundry as there is no tick box for it) I am given Radisson Blu Hotel Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport - Le Mesnil-Amelot ($132.38) which is a 4* but is not in the correct area and is cheaper than the Hotwire "hot rate". Any ideas?

ElPal Posted August 5, 2012 Author Report Posted August 5, 2012 Using your HOTWIRE links, I have seen a Hotwire "hot Deal" for $140.00 USD which is also marked with "Super Savings" in the Eiffel Tower Area which is 3 1/2*.Information given by Hotwire is:Our 3.5-star hotels include: Sheraton Hotels & Resorts Hilton Hotels & Resorts Embassy Suites Hotels DoubleTree by Hilton Club Quarters and other brand-name and independent hotels Amenities:Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Free Internet Looking on the open names listed part of the site for 3 and 3 1/2 stars I see only 2 hotels with 3 1/2 stars with the above amenities (not laundry as this isn't a tick box):Hotel de Littre $195 - which is in the 6th arrondisement in Paris and to me looks more like it would be in the Saint Germain/Jardin du Luxembourg zone.Best Western Ducs De Bourgogne hotel $468.90 which is in the 1st and to me would more likely be under the Louvre - Marais zone.Anyone have any idea which hotel it may be? On your hotwire hotel list, there is only one 3 1/2* which is Pullman Tour Eiffel but that does not come up at all on the non-hidden names part.
ElPal Posted August 5, 2012 Author Report Posted August 5, 2012 Hi,Another HOTWIRE hot Deal ID request...Same dates as before 4-11 March 2013.Details shown on hotwire hot deal are:Opéra - Grand Boulevard area hotel $169 per room per night (said to be $307 other sites)Our 4-star hotels include: Omni Hotels & Resorts Hilton Hotels & Resorts Sheraton Hotels & Resorts Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts and other brand-name and independent hotelsAmenities:Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Free Internet I am wondering whether it might be the Hotel Westminster Opera ($252 on retail site) (not because it matches the amenities listed on the Hotwire Hotel List on this site but because it is one of the hotels on your Hotwire hotel list which also comes up when I narrow results to 4* and search for the 4 given amenities.Otherwise, I am wondering if it is Mercure Paris Royal Madeleine hotel ($190 on retail site) given that that would possibly be the right area depending on whether Madeleine falls into Louvre or the Opera Grands Boulevards area.Similarly, I think it could be Mercure Paris Opera Garnier hotel ($185 on retails site).Does anyone have any idea which it might be? Any help is as always appreciated.

ElPal Posted August 5, 2012 Author Report Posted August 5, 2012 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Sorry about that - I thought different hotels in different areas so best to keep them separate - now I know the procedure, I will ensure that all posts for hotels in the same city for the same dates are kept together. Please re-post with just the following information:Star Rating, Zone, Room rate per nite, amenities associated with the hotel(and make sure that you're including the full list of amenities that are shown after clicking the 'See all' link under the amenities)As requested, here is a re-post of the information you have requested which was given in the 4 posts above:1) 4* Opéra - Grand Boulevard area hotel $169 per room per night Amenities:Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Free Internet 2) 3 1/2*Eiffel Tower area$140 per room per nightAmenities:Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Free Internet 3) 4*Louvre Marais area$167 per room per nightAmenities: Airport Shuttle , Smoke Free Rooms, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Free Internet 4) 5*Opera Grand Boulevards area$317 per room per nightAmenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Spa Services, Free Internet, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking BTW, I had already clicked the full list of amenities for each in my original posts - some only have the 4.As to whether I am prepared to pay $300+ per night, it all depends on what hotel we think it is - if it is an exceptional hotel that would usually cost far more then yes, I am prepared to pay that - I see it as a once in a lifetime opportunity :)Does HOTWIRE not normally have the hotel that is the hot rate hotel also in its retail list? I have noticed that I am unable to narrow it down using the search fields in this way.As always, I am using your links for searching and if I end up purchasing. Thanks
ElPal Posted September 9, 2012 Author Report Posted September 9, 2012 Hi,Please ignore the above requests as they are no longer available.I have been looking at HOTWIRE again, using your links as always. However, I would appreciate some assistance in identifying the following 4* hotels for our stay in Paris 4-11 March 2013:4* NOTRE DAME – LOUVRE- MARAIS $173 per night + taxes, etc. = $1339.18Airport Shuttle Smoke Free Rooms Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Free Internet 4.0/5.0 TripadvisorNarrowing down on the retail part with the amenities and the star and trip advisor rating I had only one result being the Hotel Royal Saint Honore which is a total saving of 58% on the total rate for the 7 nights. Do you think that might be what it is? If so, it is an incredible saving for HOTWIRE which doesn't often seem to have such "deep discounts".4* SAINT GERMAIN DES PRES - JARDIN DU LUXEMBOURG $173 PER NIGHT - TOTAL $1339.05 FOR THE STAYSmoke Free Rooms Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access 4.0/5.0 TripadvisorWould this probably be the Holiday Inn St Germain (which has already been reported to the board with these amenities)? HOTWIRE Retail rate for the property is $1435.56 for the stay (so not that much of a saving if it is this property).4* EIFFEL TOWER – INVALIDES $125 PER NIGHT - TOTAL $969.55 FOR THE STAY Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Free Internet Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower 3.5/5 Tripadvisor2 hotels match the amenities being the Novotel Paris Est hotel and Novotel Paris Gare de Lyon but the Novotel Paris Est is the only one that also matches the 3.5/5 Tripadvisor rating. The Novotel Paris Est total HOTWIRE retail price for the stay is $990.75.Do you think that it is the Novotel Paris Est?
ElPal Posted September 13, 2012 Author Report Posted September 13, 2012 Bumping this up as I think it may have been overlooked. Apologies for taking over the board.
ElPal Posted September 24, 2012 Author Report Posted September 24, 2012 However, I would appreciate some assistance in identifying the following 4* hotels for our stay in Paris 4-11 March 2013:4* NOTRE DAME – LOUVRE- MARAIS $173 per night + taxes, etc. = $1339.18 - price has changed to $236/ntAirport Shuttle Smoke Free Rooms Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Free Internet 4.0/5.0 TripadvisorCan you please tell me which hotel you think this is? It has been there since I started this thread albeit it with different prices - also the zone name vaires from "Notre Dame Louvre Marais" to "Louvre Marais".Thanks in advance
