unkey Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 I also got the Monaco for Christmas eve at $65. bid. Tax and service brought it up to $82. but when I checked the hotel's website reservations and Expedia the cheapest rate was $199. + tax which at 13% comes to $26. So I'm very happy. This is also a Saturday night stay which goes for more money.

unkey Posted August 2, 2005 Author Report Posted August 2, 2005 Yes, this bid is for 12/24/05. I bid last year for a 4* hotel for 12/19-21/04 @ $50. p/n. I received a reply that they had a hotel if I increased to $58. p/n which I agreed to and got the JW Marriott on Canal Street in CBD. Really nice hotel! Unfortunately the night I want is fully booked according to their website so I knew I wouldn't get it this time. Monaco is only 2 blocks from the JW Marriott so I'm getting the same location. I prefer this location because you never know if you'll get a noisy room in the French Quarter.
