Priceline Hotel: 4* Philadelphia (Convention Center - Mid Center City) Marriott Philadelphia Downtown

I am trying for a 4 star in downtown Philadelphia. I noticed there were several bids accepted at $56 for the Marriott in July. I am wanting to stay 8/11-8/13. I started at $56 going up to $70 but keep getting turned down. Any suggestions why?

Rates and inventory vary significantly from day-to-day (a winning bid at a 4* in a major city can take $75 one day and $150 the next), as well as year/over/year and seasonally. Bidding is a case-by-case basis, and what other bidders may have won for different dates does not reflect what it will take for your dates.

I didn't really want to go over $75. I am going to try again today using the other bid zones to increase my bid. I was wanting to stay at the Marriot because of its location to the transit and historic sites.

At current rates for a 4* hotel downtown property i think you're likely looking at the $100-$125 range... but a 3.5* might be had at around the $75 level.

Let us know how the next round of bidding goes and if rejected i'd keep the figures above i mind.

I also got excited when I saw the price that the other person got. I bid today starting from 50 - 63 and I didn't win.

My dates were 8/28 - 8/31
