MarcRRT Posted July 15, 2012 Author Report Posted July 15, 2012 Hotel for Boston is no longer listed on Hotwire. The dates for NYC are 8/23-8/25. Also, we are traveling with two children. When I searched for two adults and no children this hotel came up. When I searched for two adults and two children this property did not show.
thereuare Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 My guess for this property would be the Doubletree Financial District, however, i'm not seeing this hotel offered for your dates regardless of how many guests i'm searching for.NYC is not a place i'd recommend booking a room for double occupancy when you'll actually be quad occupancy. What is the price of this offer? (if still available) What is your maximum budget for this trip? (per nite before taxes and fees)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. MarcRRT Posted July 15, 2012 Author Report Posted July 15, 2012 I'm not seeing it anymore either. It was $132/night. I'd like to find something in the $140-150 range.
thereuare Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Is anything else appearing within your budget when searching for 2adults/2children?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. MarcRRT Posted July 15, 2012 Author Report Posted July 15, 2012 No. Maybe it's a little early to be looking for a room for my dates. I don't know.
thereuare Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 IF the issue is that it's too early, this would only be a small part of the problem i think... the bigger issue is that inventory in NYC often dries up and/or becomes more expensive when searching for quad occupancy. There are a few hotels that typically don't raise rates when adding children to the reservation, but the majority of hotels in NYC do increase rates for quad occupancy, regardless of the age of the additional guests. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. MarcRRT Posted August 1, 2012 Author Report Posted August 1, 2012 I've been looking for about two months. I started at $60 and increased my bid $5 by adding another 4 star zone or free bid. I then added Brooklyn and started at $70. Finally hit at $90. Lowest rate for Sheraton was $175/night prepaid. Considering I've been bidding up to $150 for a 4 star in Manhattan I'll take it.Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $90.00 (USD)Number of Rooms: 1Number of Guests Per Room: 2Number of Nights: 2Room Subtotal: $180.00 (USD)Taxes and Fees: $44.98 (USD)Total Room Cost: $224.98 (USD)(All prices are in US dollars)
