beeb08 Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 Need assistance with bidding strategy for 4* hotel in Brentwood/Westwood in LA.Dates: 8/9 - 8/11Area: Brentwood/WestwoodStars: 4*Max bid: $180I had started my bids at $120, and worked my way up to $170, using the 4 free rebid zones. Still no luck so far.
thereuare Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 Not too far from your bidding amount i did find the Hotel Angeleno on sale for $188/nite and is fully refundable up until a few days from your stay (always double check cancellation terms on your own during the check-out process)... or a little nicer you could book the Hotle Palomar for $216/nite (fully refundable as well)You could user either of these as a back-up while you continue to try PRICELINE for a better deal, and you lock in these sale prices.Either of these work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
beeb08 Posted July 28, 2012 Author Report Posted July 28, 2012 Thanks for the tip! I'd gone ahead and booked the Hotel Palomar as a backup; the price was a little higher this morning when I checked, but seemed to have come back down to $216. I will try one more round on PRICELINE, and see if I can something closer to $180. Thanks again!

beeb08 Posted May 8, 2017 Author Report Posted May 8, 2017 I decided to keep my Hotel Palomar reservation as I wasn't able to find a good deal on Hotwire. Thanks for your help!

Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans. Hope you enjoyed your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Beefdrippings Posted May 12, 2017 Report Posted May 12, 2017 If this is the Kimpton Palomar I've stayed there. I thought it was great and it's been renovated since so you're probably in for a nice stay.
