noahh Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 I am planning a family vacation to Universal for next week, and have looked at the priceline hotel lists and the helpful list of parking/resort fees. I see that others have been successful bidding on 4* in this area. I figure I have a budget of about $80 per nite (that includes fees). This means a max bid on a 4* of about $60 (roughly). Does this make sense? Any advice/bidding tips (would prefer the Peabody or Renaissance).

noahh Posted July 25, 2012 Author Report Posted July 25, 2012 I started bidding today.bid $50 zone 11....no dealrebid $55 and added zone 12....no dealrebid $58 added zone 1...no dealrebid $60 added zone 9...no dealrebid $60 added zone 7...no dealI stopped there. I guess I should keep bidding $60 and adding a couple more zones with no 4*. fyi, i do use the PRICELINE link on your site and not the e-mail link that priceline sends.
AaronJB Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 Unfortunately, I think a win at the 4* level in either of these two (Universal/Seaworld) zones may more towards the $75-85 level, although I'd try $65 and $70 for a 4* in both Seaworld and Universal zones first.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
noahh Posted July 27, 2012 Author Report Posted July 27, 2012 Just to follow-up on my earlier post.I continued bidding on the 4* in seaworld and universal zones (got up to $80 while adding zones with no 4*) and was rejected. I then waited the 24 hrs and came to my senses.I bid $40 on a 3.5* in the airport zone...rejected (was offered to add $11 to close deal, which I rejected).then bid $45...accepted.Doubletree Orlando Airport (w/ free parking).Very pleased with outcome! Will post on win calendar. Note: as always, used Betterbidding PRICELINE links.
noahh Posted July 27, 2012 Author Report Posted July 27, 2012 bid $40...rejected with counter offer of $51bid $45...accepted!7 nights total including taxes and travel insurance was about $405.
