Hey everyone. Great forum! Extremely useful/helpful.

Anyhow, I'm having a real tough time bidding on a 4* in Hollywood for 08/27/2012-08/31/2012.

I've bid several times over the past few days, and am up to $140, which by what I've seen on the forum, is on the high end for 4* in the area.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly apreciated!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

One of the issues is that there are two 'known' hotels in the zone... so there are not many properties in the zone available to accept your bid. If these hotels are a little busier than usual then they may not give any inventory to the opaque providers and you can't win at any price. I don't think demand is that great for these dates, but there is a rate change during the stay with Monday and Tuesday nites generally being more expensive then the Sunday and Wednesday nites.

Do you need this specific area or could you also include the nearby Beverly Hills-West Hollywood zone and have that work for your needs... or do you raise your budget, lower your star rating, or wait it out and hope for lower prices in the weeks ahead?
