Priceline Hotel: Don't know what to do for hotel in NYC

Dear Better Bidders,

I hope you can help me out. I am going to NYC next weekend and still don't have a hotel. I am new to both Priceline and Hotwire and have been struggling with both today, since I am nervous to make the commitment. Here are my limitations:

Travelers: We are 5 adults - 3 sisters, one brother-in-law, one cousin. Ideally we would have liked a suite to stay together but these seem...rare (i.e. non-existent)

Budget: Our cousin is here on contract from India and is making very little. Two of the sisters are just out of school so budget is restricted. Ideally we would like to pay somewhere around $175/per night/per room.

Dates: All 5 of us are there from August 3- August 5, and then only 4 of us for the night of August 6th.

Preferences: We would like to stay in Manhattan, preferably Midtown central/west

Any suggestions on what the best way for me to proceed??

Thanks in advance,
