slolar Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 Been bidding for a couple of weeks. Started at $50 up to 90, adding re-bid zones.I've booked a refundable stay at Hollywood Casino for $414. Ugh. It always kills me that I pay so much to go to Bangor Maine versus any other major city b/c I can never seem to get a good PL win.Does anyone ever win in Bangor?I'll post with updates.
AaronJB Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 Sorry to hear that bids have been tough for these dates - are you seeing anything available of interest on HOTWIRE for these dates?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Romelle Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 If you enter "bangor" in the white search box (right hand side above), and make sure "Forums" is selected, you can see the Bangor wins. There isn't a huge amount of reports, but there are some. Definitely wise to make that cancelable back-up reservation. This far out, maybe only once a week would be sufficient for bidding. You can keep trolling for a better deal.I assume the $414 is for all three night? And does it include taxes? Romelle
slolar Posted July 28, 2012 Author Report Posted July 28, 2012 Yes the $414 is for all 3 nights (including taxes). That would probably be about $125/night in PL terms. So I definitely have room to play! There's a 3* on Hotwire for $112 (total $375). Not much of a deal, IMHO.And I'm sure to always use the PRICELINE link :-)I'll report back if I win anything.
thereuare Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 The 3* on HOTWIRE may be the Holiday Inn Bangor-Odlin Road which may be worth it if you like this property better than the casino you have as a back-up. However, if correct, this property is only 2* rated by PRICELINE, so using this HOTWIRE rate as a basis for 3* bidding on PRICELINE may not be an apples-to-apples comparison. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated on your progress and let us know if we can be of further help along the way. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
