zoomom Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 I'm looking to do a quick budget-minded trip overnight either Aug 14 or 15th with my kids. I'd prefer to be mid-town but would consider outlying areas that are on public transport. 3* would be fine. Possibly 2.5 if I can be sure it's safe, clean and convenient. Any idea on what I am likely to need to spend or advice on bidding? Thanks so much!
zoomom Posted July 25, 2012 Author Report Posted July 25, 2012 I should add that my goal is to stay under $150, so while the ideal will be a 3* in mid-town, I can bend somewhat to get in the price range I need to be in.
AaronJB Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding.PRICELINE only guarantees one bed/double occupancy, and nowhere is that more true than NYC, where rooms are often quite small. Given more than 2 people, are you going to need more than one bed? If so, HOTWIRE would be a better bet in this case, as it allows you to indicate the amount of adults/children.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
zoomom Posted July 25, 2012 Author Report Posted July 25, 2012 Thanks for your feedback. I'll look at Hotwire as well, but I'm aware that using PL, I'm taking a risk and may bring along a sleeping bag and air mattress if the price is right.
thereuare Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 I don't see much difference between 8/14 or 8/15... some hotels are cheaper for the 14th while others are cheaper on the 15th.What star rating, zone(s) and maximum bid would you like to try for first? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
