Romelle Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 Holiday Inn & Suites Albuquerque Airport University 1501 Sunport PlaceAlbuquerque, NM 87106Room Cost : $51.00 Taxes and Fees: $14.26 Total Room Cost: $65.26Four free re-bids at the 3* level, so I was working up $1 at a time over a couple days. I got a counter-offer of $61 when I started this day's session at $49. My last bid the day before was also $49 but no counter-offer then. I ignored it, and bid $50. Nada. $51 - success! The place looks really nice on their web site, although no free breakfast (I'm probably better off without the temptation). I'll put in a hotel review after the stay. I've actually got two other nights at this hotel (Sep 25-27 in a prior priceline win), so will get a good look at it. Romelle
thereuare Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 Congratulations on your success! Guess this will be a preview stay for your nites later in the month. If you have any interaction with the staff and 'connect' with any employees it's a good idea to let them know you're returning later in the month... always helps to have a 'friend' look out for you at the property and may help with any type of room upgrades/assignments on your return visit.Thank you for sharing your PRICELINE win with the board. Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

If I find an opportunity, I'll try it!Thanks, RomellePS - the trip is a complicated one. I discovered airfare from MSP to Guernsey, UK was actually about $200 more than airfare from ABQ. Humm.. More frequent flyer miles from ABQ. Humm..... Friends in ABQ. Humm............ So nested the Guernsey trip within a couple ABQ visits. An overnight layover in CDG (posted). Unfortunately for betterbidding, the rest of the stay will be odd little B&Bs on Guernsey and Jersey. I had Guernsey cows in 4-H many years ago. Sort of a pilgrimage for me.
docpants Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 Don't worry about the breakfast. Right across the street from that hotel (where I love staying), is a Hatch Chili Distributorship with a restaurant attached called Little Anita's. They serve amazing breakfast burritos and New Mexican food -- try the carne adovada for a real treat. It's cheap and one of my favorite things about that area.
Romelle Posted July 27, 2012 Author Report Posted July 27, 2012 Thank you, thank you! I had to miss the Hatch Chili Festival this year, and was feeling pretty sorry for myself. I'm all better now, thanks to you.Romelle
