ipebles Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 I am looking for 1 room in the San Diego Downtown & Harbor Island area for August 17-19. I would like to have a ball park idea of how much I should expect to pay for a 2 1/2, 3, 3 1/2 and 4 star hotel. I don't know what I am want to spend yet but I think about 50-75/night might be more reasonable for me. If someone one can help me Thanks.
AaronJB Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. While $70-75 is worth trying, unfortunately, I don't think it will be enough for a 3-3.5*-4* for these dates in the Downtown-Harbor Island area. My guess is that a 3* may take $85-95 +/- My guess is that you're likely looking at $120-135+ for a 4*.Let us know your thoughts and we would be happy to offer further suggestions.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
ipebles Posted July 29, 2012 Author Report Posted July 29, 2012 I have been trying to bid for 3-3 1/2 star hotels and I am not having any luck. I am planning this trip for 8/17/12-8/19/12 and want to stay in the Downtown area, Point Loma or Hillcrest area. My bids have been from 65-80. Anyone have any bidding suggestions. A am willing to go down to 2-2 1/2 stars to try to stay under $75 a night ($80 absolute Max). I am familiar with the rebidding and have tried that but no luck. I would prefer to price over star rating so any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks
thereuare Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 If you haven't yet, please read your messages. So to confirm...Your next move is to try for a 2.5* hotel in the Downtown, Hillcrest and Point Loma zones with a maximum budget of $75? (or should we use $80??) If that is rejected you'd then like to re-try for a 2* hotel with the same maximum bid?You have not yet made any 2.5* bids, correct? Please confirm all of the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks. ipebles Posted July 30, 2012 Author Report Posted July 30, 2012 I have made bids for 2.5 and have been rejected at $75. I would hate to pay more for this especially for a lower star rating. Any suggestions .
ipebles Posted July 31, 2012 Author Report Posted July 31, 2012 I was finally able to score Town And Country Resort And Conference Center 3 star for $75/Night from 8/17-8/19.
