Eric26
Hi,First of all, I've started my search with your HOTWIRE link. I'm planning another NY City trip this fall. But, this time, I think I will take a Secaucus - Meadowlands area hotel. My 7 yo kid like so much to swim!!!I've see this 82$ property for 2 adults + 1 child:This Hotel features the following amenities:Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Free Parking My guess would be the Sheraton meadowlands...Are you agree with me?Also, is it easy and cheap to travel from this hotel to Time square at each day? Thank again for this helpful tool and have a nice day! Link to comment
thereuare
Yes, best guess for this property would be the Sheraton. However, it's not the easiest hotel to get to NYC from... there is no bus stop, nor anything else, that is walkable from this property. To get to Manhattan you need to take the hotel shuttle (scheduled service, not 'on demand') to Secaucus station and then take the train to Manhattan. Currently i'm pretty sure the train is $4/pp each way.If you have a car it's a bit easier as you can drive less than 5 minutes to a nearby Park N Ride where you can park your car and take the bus into the city. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed or how it goes. Eric26
Thank, I really want this family trip to be easy...So, I really appreciate your input!!!This morning, I also saw a Hoboken - Jersey City - North Bergen area 4* hotel at about 145$. It has been report as the westin or the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor Hotel. Would any of these 2 hotels be more convenient to come and go from Times square?Since it's july, I'm not in a hurry to book. I also keep an eye on a Hotwire Manathan deal but there's not a lot of hotels with an indoor pool in this area...I will keep you posted.Thank again! Link to comment
thereuare
The hotel you're seeing is most likely the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor... it's an easy (but not 'cool' like taking the PATH train) into the city as there is a bus right near the door of the hotel that takes you right into Port Authority (42nd St and Eighth Ave). Keep in mind the hotel charges ~$20/nite to park although on the weekends i would possibly inquire about parking at the garage across the street for the office building... not sure if anyone would bother you there on the weekend (but of course it's at your own risk ;) )Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Eric26
I just want to close what I started this summer.I finally booked a hotel for my (not fall but now spring!!!) family escape in NYC. Just reserved directly on the website of the hotel one UN New York. I've noticed that it's very expensive to secure a 2 beds room in NYC downtown so when I saw a 227$/nite rate for advanced purchase...So It won't be a Meadowlands hotel. The one UN hotel has an indoor pool as we wanted but just saw after that the hours of operation don't seem to be convinient for us...I've also seen (after I booked) a lot of bad reviews on tripadvisor so I'm a little confused about my choice!!! Anyway, the city will be great for sure!Thank for all your inputs and be sure that I'll use again priceline or hotwire another time.Regards. Link to comment
