It was the "name your own price" section, and its for 1 night, from aug 26/27, 2012 with the following amenities:

For the 4*, there is a pool, restaurant and scored 8+ on guest reviews

For the Resort, there is a pool, restaurant, fitness center and scored 8+ on the guest reveiws. It also says its the 'best deal'

When amenities are shown on the bidding side of PRICELINE they are amenities that are common to every hotel in the zone at that star rating... not a specific hotel. In other words, for the 4* hotel PRICELINE can guarantee that the hotel will have a restaurant and a pool not because you're bidding on a specific hotel that has these two amenities, but rather because every 4* hotel in this zone offers these amenities (and as you can imagine, not uncommon for a 4* hotel to offer both a Restaurant and Pool).

If you want to try bidding on PRICELINE you need to be able accept any hotel in the zone at the star level, or higher, than you choose. If it's important for you to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive before your purchase, HOTWIRE may be a better option as they show the amenities before hand that are specific to a particular hotel offered and you can therefore use this information to take a guess as to the property being offered... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE is usually a little more expensive than PRICELINE.

I think that Hotel is the Maui Coast too, but not the price of 215. I show the 3.5* kihei as $161 (which I think is too high already-Id never pay thatfor that property) let alone 215. Maui Coast is $169 on Hotels.com. That 215 number must be from another category

Thanks everyone for your help. I ended up just booked the fairmont key lani direct from fairmonts site for $299/night as it was on sale, and i figured it was a good price for a 5 star.
