Sabo Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Hi!I am new to this and would very much appreciate some help in bidding for a Hotel in New York using Priceline. My dates of travel are from Sept. 12-16, 2012 and I am looking for a 3.5* or Higher hotel in Manhattan. The highest I can afford to bid is $170 USD. I would prefer to get a hotel in Time Square or surrounding areas such as Chelsea, Midtown E/W, Hell's Kitchen, Central Park South, MSG, Empire State (etc.). If these areas do not fit in with my budget, I would not even mind the Downtown Financial or Soho areas, but would rather keep these as a last resort. Can someone please suggest a good strategy to follow in order to get a hotel that meets the above criteria?I apologize in advance if I have failed to mention any other relevant info that might be needed, please let me know if there is any further info required. Looking forward to hearing from someone!
thereuare Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please click each of these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links, then reply to this thread and we'll have a look at your post above. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! Also, ote that when bidding 3.5* and lower:MTE - some 'known' hotels can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway... is this acceptable?CPS - has the Hudson Hotel, which while well located, has notoriously small rooms (~140 sq. ft.).. is this acceptable? Are either/both of these acceptable?Let us know the information above and we'll take it from there. Sabo Posted July 24, 2012 Author Report Posted July 24, 2012 Yes, both are acceptable. I do not mind the walk or the small rooms. Thanks for the quick response!

Sabo Posted July 25, 2012 Author Report Posted July 25, 2012 Thanks for the Strategy but unfortunately it didn't work out. Could I apply the above strategy for 3 star hotels as well?
