petezz Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 HiI'm a bit confused trying to find a particular hotel on PRICELINE (which I have won before) but the Priceline Maps seem wrong. I would like to stay at the Courtyard By Marriott SUFFOLK Chesapeake (NOT the Courtyard By Marriott Chesapeake which is a different place) but can't seem to find it in Zone 3 on the PL maps. I am prepared to take a chance bidding on a 3* in Zone 3 BUT I definitely don't want the Aloft. The odd thing is that the Aloft appears in both Zones 3 AND 4 but geographically it should be in Zone 4.Any thoughts welcome !!Thanks
thereuare Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet please start by reading your messages. We've updated the Priceline Maps and it should all now appear correctly, let us know if you notice any errors. Are you know comfortable bidding for a 3* hotel in the Chesapeake - Churchland - Suffolk zone? If so, what are the dates of your stay and your target maximum bid amount? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. petezz Posted July 23, 2012 Author Report Posted July 23, 2012 Thanks for updating the PL maps - can now see it. Looking at 5th Aug around $45/night
thereuare Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 My guess is that $45 will likely fall short, but if you want to give it a try:At the 3* level you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Chesapeake - Churchland - Suffolk...Bid $35, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $43, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $45Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. petezz Posted August 2, 2012 Author Report Posted August 2, 2012 HiI was waiting to fix my dates - its now 17th Aug. You said $45 sounded too low - what do you think a realistic bid would be without needing to do a lot of re-bidding?Thanks
thereuare Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 If you're not looking to do a lot of bidding i would bid as follows, using your THREE re-bid zones (If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.):Select 3* Chesapeake - Churchland - Suffolk...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65If $65 is more than you'd like to pay then you can adjust the numbers accordingly... but i chose $65 as once you get beyond that you may want to choose your hotel like the Courtyard for $89 or the Hilton Garden Inn for $81.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
