musketeermom Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 I have never bid on my own price for a hotel on any sites. Very knew to this. Whenever I go into Priceline for example, I don't see where I can change the star level. I want 3 stars or more minimum. Thanks for any advice.
AaronJB Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What are your date/s of travel and desired budget per night? The highest star level available to bid on PRICELINE in St Joseph is 2*.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
musketeermom Posted July 22, 2012 Author Report Posted July 22, 2012 Aug 11-12, 1 night. Any area along W. Michigan in beach towns are good. Budget per night $65-70 max. thanks!
Romelle Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 If you use the blue PRICELINE link (above in the right hand corner) and fill in your dates and city, it will take you to the bidding area. You will see the star level selection there on the left hand side.If you happen to use one of the underlined PRICELINE links that are on this site in the message texts, it will take you to the "home" page of PRICELINE. About the middle of that page you will see something that either says "Name your own price" or "Bid now". You need to click on one of those to get into the bidding area.Think of PRICELINE as having two areas - Retail and Bidding. The Home page will get you into Retail, but there is also a link there to get into the Bidding. Romelle
thereuare Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Are you able to see the star ratings now, as per Romelle's direction and the search box(es) above? It appears that 2* is the highest star rating offered in this area... if you only want a 3* property you'll need to check out HOTWIRE to see if anything is offered there, or try a non-opaque source (try our MAPS and HOTELS.com)While we don't see much bidding in this area, my guess is that $50 may not be reasonable given that you're looking for a solo Saturday nite in a beach resort area, during the peak summer months. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
