Hello all,

I am very excited about this coming weekend that I'll be spending in Chicago. We have Cubs tix, restaurant reservations, and the works but we are missing one KEY thing: hotel reservations.

I have been looking to stay in/very near Magnificent Mile and would naturally prefer a 4* hotel. Is this realistic or am I asking for to much with a budget of $150? Since time in the hotel room is limited, I care more about location than amenities but of course, nicer is always better. Any suggestion please?!?! I am running out of time and am desperate.

Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, $150 is unlikely for a 4* for these dates and there is definitely a high possibility that it may not be enough for a 3.5* - HOTWIRE is only showing one listing (a 3* in the Loop area that looks to possibly be the Holiday Inn on Harrison, which is not a particularly great location) downtown for these dates, for $206.)

Are you flying in or driving in?

I would be okay with a 3 star as long as I'm in a good location. I am flying into ORD.

Are there any other areas I should consider? My primary concern is being close to restaurants, bars, and the el. Thanks for your help.

Given the difficult of these dates, which zone(s), but PRICELINE name, are you willing to accept?

Although not ideal, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option as i think that does open up your somewhat possibilities.

You could cheaply stay out by O'Hare, probably for $50-60 for a 4*. I'd try 3.5* first, starting at $120 and working higher by $5's for both the Millennium Park/Loop/Grant Park zone and River North-NMA area, as those are really the only downtown zones for Chicago - many properties appear sold out for these dates. 3.5* under $150 is unlikely but worth a try - if that doesn't work then 3* up to $150. Given how bad these dates are, however, there is the possibility that $150 may not be accepted for a 3*.

Please keep all posts for this stay within this thread. Thanks.

The Ritz is a 5*, and no 5* bidding (or HOTWIRE listings) are available in downtown Chicago. Rates/inventory unfortunately seem to have gotten worse for these dates in the last few days.
