Priceline Hotel: Help needed - 2.5, 3 or 3.5 star hotel - San Diego zoo area for night of 7/21

I don't know what's going on in SD this weekend, but the hotel rates are insane. I looked up rates in the locations listed below on Hotwire and the best I could see 2 star rates of $400/nt. The lowest I saw was was an HI Express in Rancho Bernardo for $311.

These are all so outside my price range. I might be just SOL at this point but I was hopeing for a 2.5, 3 or 3.5 star hotel for ~$60 to $80 a night. The zones where I am ready to stay are listed below.

Please help (even if the help is in the form of telling me there is no way I can get a room below $X/nt). Thanks to anyone who can reply to this!

Did you try kayak.com ?. I found several 3*, price is around $250. When you try Kayak, be careful, some of the hotels listed are across the Mexico border- so read the address of the hotel before you book.

However, seems like the $250+ that you've found is still well over the OP's budget.
