I am a first time BetterBidding.com and Priceline.com user!

Any advice for bidding for Toronto (Don Valley/ Vaughan/Airport) would be appreciated.

I need a room with 2 double/queen beds for August 25-26 (Thursday-Friday), preferably a 3* but a 2.5* would be perfectly OK. I would prefer to stay in 1.) Don Valley zone, 2.) Vaughan zone, 3.) Airport zone. I also would like to add extra nights (Wednesday. August 25 and/or Saturday,August 27) if the price was right. I was thinking of an initial bid of $35 or $40 and seeing what happens. Does that sound reasonable? Where do you think I should start ?

Thank you!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Few things to clarify before you should bid...

You can't guarantee two beds in the room. Priceline guarantees double occupancy, but actual bed configuration is at the discretion of the hotel. To use Priceline you have to accept the risk that you get a room with only one bed.

You are better off bidding for the 'extra nites' with your original bid, up to the "if the price is right" amount.. then if rejected start bidding over for the shorter set of dates.

What is more important, price or your prefered zone order?

Thank you thereuare for the prompt reply :)

I have 2 kids so 2 beds is a priority, and I now realize that with Priceline that may be risky.

I have been checking out hotwire and I think that probably will be better for me. I found a 3* in my preferred zone for $68 and am considering that now. I was wondering what extra charges besides taxes that I may incur though ?

There is a fee incurred by Hotwire as well, but this is included in the "fees and taxes" shown to you before your Hotwire purchase.

At the hotel, you pay for any incidentals (telephone calls, meals charged to your room, parking, resort fees (if applicable), etc).

If you'd like help identifying the property your say provide us with all the amenities that Hotiwre is associating with the property you're seeing.
