LilMiranda Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Hey, I am looking for a hotel in the San Diego area. I'm not picky about the area, but i've been looking at Downtown, oldtown, coastal area, La Jolla (dont know what zone that would be). Basically just a nice/clean area, touristy is ok. We do have a car, just dont want to be in like "bad" areas. If I could get any suggestions on possible zones, and strategies? Looking at 3 1/2 stars and up, and hoping we dont have to pay more than $200/night (really looking around 150-175). I have been trying the last two days, but have been rejected with a lot of options. But never thought about an actual strategy. Thanks.

LilMiranda Posted July 20, 2012 Author Report Posted July 20, 2012 Yeah I was not successful with the bidding. San Diego is just really busy and it was was pretty obvious because all the websites I would use would only give a handful of available hotels. But I ended up booking the 'San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina' for $245 a night on PRICELINE. It's actually the cheapest I found, and I was checking multiple websites. I figured because it includes "parking, $40 credit"... it still ended up a bit more affordable than other hotels. Thanks for all your help. I'll definetely be using this site a lot more on all my trips.
thereuare Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 Sorry to hear the bidding was unsuccessful for these busy/difficult dates, but glad you found something on the 'retail' side of PRICELINE that would work for your needs.Thank you for closing this thread with your decision and sharing your purchase with the board.
