helen SJ Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 I start bidding at $190, and slowly going up to $220 and get this hotel. I read the review of this Hotel, it seems not a very good one, they all complain the room size are small.
AaronJB Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Congrats on your success. :)Very nice win for this W property - unfortunately, rooms at most NYC properties are smaller.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
thereuare Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Other than the room size reviews at this property are generally pretty good. At check-in you can see if any upgrades (complimentary or paid) are available if it is worth it to you. You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.Enjoy your stay. helen SJ Posted July 18, 2012 Author Report Posted July 18, 2012 Thank you for your recommendation. I will keep it in mind. Do you know if we can ask for room of 2 beds, because we have 2 kids with us.The hotel in NY is very expensive.
thereuare Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. you can call the hotel and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request, or there could be an extra charge involved to upgrade. This hotel does charge more for rooms with two beds vs. rooms with only one bed, so for the hotel to charge for an upgrade is reasonable. This is common at many NYC hotels which is why we don't typically recommend using PRICELINE in NYC for more than double occupancy.
