Meontravel Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 I need help identifying a Priceline Express Deal. Can I still get some help identifying a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal. I suspect it's Palazzo, if so, is it a good deal?$143 8/24-27/125*Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher).... LOL the or higher is funny to me.resort fee $22.40 (somewhat of a give-away)Guaranteed Amenities (not so helpful):indoor/outdoor poolfree parkingrestaurantbusiness centercasinofitness center
thereuare Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 This could be any of the 5* hotels on the strip. The $22.40 is resort fee is actually not that uncommon of a figure as it represents a $20 resort fee + 12% tax = $22.40If this is the Palazzo's resort fee i suspect that the Venetian charges the same amount as well... not sure of the resort fees at Wynn/Encore, but these would be possibilities as well. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Meontravel Posted July 17, 2012 Author Report Posted July 17, 2012 So in your opinion, would this be a deal, or do you think bidding I would get lower. I was hoping to get one of the above hotels mentioned for 125 ish.... (always use the links when my thinking cap is on). I appreciate your site!
thereuare Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 I believe you can do better by bidding... do you want to bid up to $125 or up to the price of this offer, $143?Are you bidding both Strip North and Strip South or only the Strip North zone? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Meontravel Posted July 17, 2012 Author Report Posted July 17, 2012 I isolated my bidding to the North Zone 5* hotels, using other zones with out 5* hotels and bid up to 130 today. Nothing (used your PRICELINE links of course!)We are staying at Vdara 8/22-24 so I was thinking a change of scenery would be nice... but maybe I should have just bid for the whole duration of our stay and we may have been rewarded with a fine deal. Oh well, you win some/loose some.I'm so jealous of the guy who booked the Venetian through Hotwire for the same weekend for 95! OMG how did he get so lucky, I've never even seen a North Strip casino combo come up on Hotwire, or South Strip now that I think of it... ever (not that I check all the time but I have since we decided to go).
thereuare Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 I'm so jealous of the guy who booked the Venetian through Hotwire for the same weekend for 95! OMG how did he get so lucky...If you're referring to this Hotwire Las Vegas thread, that stay is for six nites (which includes 2 expensive weekend nites and 4 cheap midweek nites) so that average price is bound to be lower than your own stay which has 2 expensive weekend nites but only 1 cheap midweek nite.Is $120 your maximum bid for this remaining nites of your stay or are you willing to bid as high as the $143/nite offered thru PRICELINE for the North Strip property... or it appears you can book the Vdara for $133/nite on HOTWIRE which would not give you the option of staying in another part of the strip, but would give you the convenience of not having to change hotels. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. OOPS it's gone now. Oh well! Back to bidding.So...1 would you bid for single nights or how would you do the bidding2 would you keep bidding for a 5* north strip (up to 143), and if so why?3 if I did win Vdara on Hotwire for all nights (singles or together, whichever was cheaper I'll check into it) would they combine the reservation or make us check-out/check-in every day?AND I'm still using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE
Meontravel Posted July 18, 2012 Author Report Posted July 18, 2012 Ok, I gave up and booked at Encore directly. They offered me a great discount on show tickets, the savings more than made up for the mere mortal's worth of pennies I was all worked up over (saved $80 on tickets alone). Thanks!
thereuare Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Glad to see you found something that works for the balance of your stay and that you will be able to stick with your original plan of staying on both ends of the strip. Thanks for closing this thread with your decision.Have a great trip!
