nomadnl Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Two couples traveling and looking for a min 3 star close to major attractions or minimal walk to subway. Like to get the best bang for our buck so the most we would like to spend taxes and all is $200 per night. Any bidding strategies recommending. Do you think the Memorial day holiday will be too big an impact the deals to be had?
AaronJB Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Please provide a follow-up for your prior Las Vegas Hotwire thread (post what you decided for that stay within that thread, then reply to this thread. Unfortunately, this is a very busy/expensive time of year in NYC.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

nomadnl Posted July 19, 2012 Author Report Posted July 19, 2012 We would like 2 rooms double occupancy and yes our dates are Oct 4 - Oct 9 2012
thereuare Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Your $200 all-in budget equates to about a $165/nite bid price, which unfortunately at the moment i don't think is going to be enough for this stay.We can give it a try, but in order to do so we'll need to know which zone(s) you're willing to accept. Given these will likely be tough within your budget i would include all zones which are acceptable, as i don't think you'll be able to be too fussy and 'pick and choose' the most ideal location. You may want to consider:CPS, Chelsea, DT, ESB, MSG, MTE, MTW, Soho, TSHowever, note the following when bidding 3.5* and under in NYC:MTE - some 'known' hotels can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway... is this acceptable?CPS - has the Hudson Hotel, which while well located, has notoriously small rooms (~140 sq. ft.).. is this acceptable?DT - is a little 'out of the way' but do-able for the right price. Most hotels in the zone have good access to a subway station, but you'll be 20-25 minute ride to midtownLet us know your thoughts and which zones are you acceptable and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
