Sunkissedpr1ncs Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 I'm new to Priceline and could use some help bidding for a hotel from 7/20 - 7/22.Not too picky about what star (obviously the higher the better) but just looking for something close to Seaworld for under $100 a night. Thanks!
LilMiranda Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 I'm looking for the same dates. Last night I tried a few different bids on the San Diego/Downtown area and even the coastal area but all of my bids were rejected, I think I bid up to $160. I didn't think San Diego would be so pricey, as I've stayed there before.
thereuare Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Welcome (both of you) to BetterBidding!Sunkissedpr1ncs,If you enter 'San Diego' into BiddingHelper.com search box at the top of the page, which zones in the PRICELINE TAB are you willing to accept?I assume from your post your goal is the highest rated hotel in the zone(s) you are willing to bid at $100 or less? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.LilMiranda ,Feel free/please start a NEW TOPIC for your own stay. This will serve as one place to follow your bidding history that leads to the eventual win, and we'll also use the topic title of that thread to reflect your purchase once a hotel is won. You can/should still post here with updates, as well as link to your newly created thread where the OP here can follow your bidding history, just as you will likely follow the bidding history here.Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Sunkissedpr1ncs Posted July 17, 2012 Author Report Posted July 17, 2012 I'm looking for Downtown and Harbor Island or Point Loma-Shelter Island-Old TownSince it seems they are pretty expensive this weekend, I'd be willing to pay up to $125 now. Thanks for your help!
thereuare Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 These are very expensive dates in the area and i would try the following:In San Diego at the 4* level you have FOURTEEN re-bid zones, at the 3.5* level you have ELEVEN re-bid zones, at the 3* level you have TWO re-bid zones.Select 4* Downtown and Point Loma...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 3.5* Downtown and Point Loma...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 3* Downtown...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Point Loma...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Downtown and Point Loma...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120Any questions feel free to ask. If the above is rejected (which i'm afraid may be likely) let us know if you'd like to try a lower star rating, raise your bid, include other zones, or wait it out and hope for lower prices in the next day or two? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
