Hotwire Hotel: Toronto Downtown East Hotel

We are staying for 2 nights, starting on Aug 7. There are 2 adults and 2 children in the party.

We want to stay in Toronto - either at the Marriott Bloor-Yorkville or Marriott Eaton Centre Hotel.

We did a search for 4 star and better Toronto Downtown East hotels.

Only 1 hotel came up with a 4 star rating, fitting our criteria above.

There was a 95% approval rating, on this hotel.

Some of the amenities included pool (listed twice, once as indoor pool, and as pool), non-smoking rooms, free internet access, business centre, spa etc.

The list price was quoted at $213; the hotwire price was less than $99.

There were 60 bookings, through the past 24 hours.

What are the chances that the hotel will be one of the 2 Marriotts?

Saw a promotion at Delta Chelsea. The base rate of $179 (CAD) per room was discounted to $99 per room.

We took that room; we felt more comfortable for now in terms of booking a known hotel upfront, rather than booking a hotel opaquely.

I, as a physician, have stayed at the hotel - mainly as an attendeed to a medical conference there (held by the National Cancer Institute of Canada Clinical Trials Group).

Although I do agree that Marriott may be slightly more upscale than Delta Chelsea, I am surprised that HOTWIRE now defines this as a 3.5 star hotel, rather than a 4 star hotel.
