I appreciate that using Priceline is recommended for 3-4 nights at the most and on that basis I appreciate that my trip may need to be broken up in to 3 parts in order to achieve a satisfactory outcome using this method.I am looking for at least a 4* hotel, at around $200 a night, and at present I would be willing to stay in the following areas:- Midtown East- Midtown West- Soho- Chelsea- Central parkI have not used this system before so I should be grateful for your comments and suggested strategy to arrange the hotel bookings for my stay. I am happy for you to suggest I change the price I am looking to pay if this seems unrealistic.I will of course use the links provided by this site to access Priceline and submit any bids.I look forward to your comments and thank you in advance.Shaun

This is a one of the peak times of year for NYC and it's not uncommon for hotels to get prices well into the mid-$200's. I don't think you need to run and book in the next 2 days... but it's also not a stay that i would wait until the very last minute.I assume you tried all the dates listed? Would you be open to a highly rated 3.5*?
