Priceline Hotel: 4* Times Square 8/4 - 8/9

Hi,

I am new to bidding. Am looking to get a 4* hotel in Times Square. My travel dates are 4th August checkin and 9th August checkout (5 nights total). Given that I have a weekend, was wondering if my hotel rate would be lower. I didn't mind including other Midtown areas but the problem is that the 4* hotels in other areas do not necessarily have a large room (am looking for a bigger room since my wife and I will be having about 4 large and 2 small suitcases + will require room to move around :) ). I tried bidding and got up to $150. Not looking to spend way more than that. I know current rates are in the 300+ range but have read lot of posts where people have won in the 150 vicinity. I currently have booked a cancelable hotel (Hotel Royalton New York on 44th Street for $235+ taxes per night) and thought would book closer to my actual dates. Any suggestions or help on how to get a good 4 star in Times square for 150 buks approx?

I don't think you're going to find a 4* hotel in Times Square for $150 or less for these dates. At current rates i think you would need to go up to ~$225/nite for a 4* hotel in Times Square... if you're willing to stay in other nearby midtown zones then a 4* can probably be had for ~$180-$200/nite.
