brombergj Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 I'm looking for a 4* Hotel for 3 rooms for one night on 09/01/12 to 09/02/12. I've already tried up to $110 per room using rebid zones and am looking for advice on what I could expect to pay via Priceline for a 4* Hotel for 3 rooms that night. Thanks!Jason
AaronJB Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What would be your desired max bid per night for this stay?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
brombergj Posted July 13, 2012 Author Report Posted July 13, 2012 $150. But, I'm not sure if that's reasonable.
thereuare Posted July 14, 2012 Report Posted July 14, 2012 Based upon current prices at the moment i don't think $150 will be enough, and it may take substantially more, but it's hard to pinpoint an exact number for this one given the holiday weekend...Not only does the holiday weekend inflate prices, but hotels are looking to fill their rooms for the entire weekend. Most travelers will be in the area for the whole weekend, and if a hotel sells a solo Saturday nite room to you, they may have trouble filling that same room for the Friday and Sunday nites (and if they're busy, as they likely would expect to be this weekend, they may in the future need to turn away a 3 nite booking if they already sold the room for Saturday). I don't think it will be impossible to get a room for just Saturday, but it's not going to come at a very deep discount to conventionally booked rates (which i'm currently seeing at $265+ when using MAPS and HOTELS.com and only viewing 3.5* and higher rated hotels and sorting by price)If you want continue to try i would bid up to your maximum bid given how difficult i think a multi-room win at the 4* level at $150 or under may be.When bidding 4* in this region you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Niagara Falls...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135If the above is rejected wait 24 hours and re-try, once again starting with a PRICELINE link on the board (and not the links in any emails PRICELINE may send indicating that you're eligible to bid again):Select 4* Niagara Falls...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $143, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $148, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
