Priceline Hotel: 4* New York City (Midtown West) Sheraton New York Hotel And Towers

Pleased with this one. Never stayed at the Sheraton, but photos look nice and reviews are positive. Good location.

Bidding:

* As always, bid and won using BiddingHelper.com

* Began bidding 4* - C + ESB + HK + ME + S/T at $100. (My first preference zones.)

* Rebid up to $130 in increments of $5 w/ no success and no counter-offers.

* Switched to CPS + MW + TS/TD at $100.

* Rebid in increment of $5.

* Bid accepted at $110 w/ no counter-offers.

$$$ Comparisons:

* Retail rate for the Sheraton was $289.

* Hotwire rate for a hotel that was possibly the Sheraton was $136.

* Lowest 4* retail rate was for the Paramount, which is questionably a 4*, at $149.

* Lowest 4* Hotwire rates were $123 and $126 for the Kimberly and the Club Quarters downtown, neither of which I would prefer.

* I think $110 is the lowest 4* price we've seen in NYC in a while. Another poster also won this at $100.

If you're adventurous and/or enjoy some 'local flavor', give the

around the corner from this hotel a try... really good white sauce and the spiciest red sauce (using it sparingly!!) i've ever had. You want the cart that is there from 7:30pm-4am and is on the SW corner of 53rd and Sixth Ave.
