grayh Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Hi,I'll be in Houston for 2 days with a rental car. I'm looking for a nice 4 star property, however I've got no idea about the different regions. Which regions can you recommend and why? I prefer a safe and clean environment, maybe good access to the center (not necessary though, as I said we've got a car). Any help is appreciated, I've never been to Houston before. And what are the usual fees of the hotels in terms of parking? Something between $10-$20?)

thereuare Posted July 13, 2012 Report Posted July 13, 2012 Well Houston is a BIG place so not sure we can offer much guidance on where to stay based upon your needs this trip, best advice would be to figure out what you want to do in the area and pick a place that is convenient to access the place you intend to head to during the day. Once you have determined the zone(s) you're willing to accept, and your expected budget per nite, we can suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. rd456 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Can I jump in here with a similar question. Family of four going to spend one week in Houston in August with no car. What's a good area for food and shopping ON FOOT? I'm guessing that the Galleria is good, but then it is pretty expensive. Anywhere else that's cheaper?I'm trying to do some research, but it's hard to get qualitative information like that. Thanks,RD
