Priceline Hotel: 4* Chicago (North Michigan Ave - River North) W Hotel Lakeshore

I am trying to get a 4* room somewhere around Millennium Park/Michigan Ave for Friday night(7/13-7/14).

I initially tried getting a room from 7/13-7/15 in the $80-100 range but was unsuccessful after numerous tries.

I then tried getting a room for just Friday night, 7/13-7/14, but was unsuccessful up to $120.

I usually get rooms at the Hyatt Regency for anything between $50-70/night but I understand that I likely will not get such a sweet deal on this occasion.

Any advice? How should I be approaching this?

Thanks in advance.

dadamafia,

Welcome to BetterBidding!

I'd guess for a 4* hotel in one of these zones you may be looking at $150-$170 for this nite... what is your maximum bid before lowering your star rating or considering other zones?

Thanks.

I wasn't commenting or asking for help on my own stay. I had bid myself for the exact same date, location, and star level, and made a comment about what I thought might get a room for the same criteria that the OP was using since that is what the OP asked about, based on personal experience. I only came to the site to put down a winning bid as I thought that would help people and thought I'd answer a question nobody else had. I can keep it to myself, I guess. Thanks for the responses!

I tried up to $130 today and got nothing.

$150-170 seems a bit much but I will think about it a bit before attempting to bid again. $150 is about as high as I would go before lowering the star rating, if I even want to go that high, but I really know nothing about any other <4* hotels in the area.

Gopiku,

Nobody was staying that your reply was not appreciated nor that it off-topic... notice the IF you wanted help with your own stay you should start a new topic. ;)

However, it would be beneficial if you started a NEW TOPIC for your own stay as you could use that thread to track your bidding history (and eventual win or whatever you decided to do for that stay). Then when replying to a post such as the one above you could link to your thread and the user, as well as any one else following along or who searches and finds your thread, could see your complete bidding history and what you have already tried.

dadamafia,

Let us know whatever you decide to do for this nite, but you are running a bit low on time. At the moment it appears things might be just out of your grasp and $145-$165 seems to be the right area for this nite.

Let us know if/how we can be of further help along the way in pursuit of a room for this nite.
