GLK Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Hello! We are looking to bid on a 4* or better in TS. We have never stayed in this area as we usually stay at the Millenium in the Financial District or Rosevelt. Would like to be between $100-$130. If not successful we could add MTE and MTW, would just like to stay central this trip. Would appreciate a strategy and insight. Thanks!

AaronJB Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please click the currency tab in the upper corner of HOTWIRE, and switch to USD$ then reply with the per night total (before taxes/fees) in USD$ and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID. Have you tried bidding on PRICELINE already for this stay?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
GLK Posted July 9, 2012 Author Report Posted July 9, 2012 HI!The price is listed at $145/night before taxes.I did post my original post in the Priceline section asking for a bidding strategy...not sure why it was moved to the Hotwire section. Thanks!
thereuare Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Please keep all posts (for both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE) in the same thread... if you ultimately use the 'other' service we'll then move the entire thread to the correct section of the board (or it will move itself if you use the "EDIT TO REPORT WIN" button on the lower right corner of the board)Best guess for the HOTWIRE property is the W New York.Given that the HOTWIRE hotel is above your desired limit as well as not in your desired zone, is your first move to try bidding on PRICELINE for a 4* hotel in the TS zone? If that is rejected is your next move to try for a 4* in the TS, MTE, or MTW zone with a maximum bid of $130?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. GLK Posted July 11, 2012 Author Report Posted July 11, 2012 I tried to bid on PRICELINE today after reading many posts. I started to bid on 5* in the TS area up to $150...no luck. Then dropped down to a 4* and bid in the TS, MTE, MTW, ESB, Chelsea area with a max of $130...no luck. Now I guess I wait until tomorrow and try again. I did see that the W Hotel was won at $138 so I will try to up my budget a bit. I could also just book the W for $150 on HOTWIRE I guess. Will report back tomorrow with any updates. Thanks!
