traini Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 Hi Everyone. Well, this afternoon, I tried 21 times to get a 4* in Philadelphia and failed. I know I started low, but I thought I would hit something eventually. Here's what I did:Check in 7/9/2012Check out 7/12/2012Only 4* rating checked$46 zone 3 (Convention Center)$50 zones 3,1$54 zones 3,1,2$58 zones 3,1,2,7$62 zones 3,1,2,7,10$66 zones 3,1,2,7,10,11$70 zones 3,1,2,7,10,11,12$50 zone 5 (Historic / Penn's Landing)$55 zones 5,1$60 zones 5,1,2$65 zones 5,1,2,7$70 zones 5,1,2,7,10$75 zones 5,1,2,7,10,11$80 zones 5,1,2,7,10,11,12$50 zone 9 (Rittenhouse)$55 zones 9,1$60 zones 9,1,2$65 zones 9,1,2,7$70 zones 9,1,2,7,10$75 zones 9,1,2,7,10,11$80 zones 9,1,2,7,10,11,12I can get into combinations of zones 3, 5, and 9 now. Should I just be going higher? Would it help to move the dates to 7/10 through 7/13? I could always drop down to 3.5* also. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance,Tom
AaronJB Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)These aren't extraordinarily busy dates in Philly, but they are a little bit on the higher side and will require a higher ceiling than the above. What would be your desired max bid per night for this stay?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
traini Posted July 8, 2012 Author Report Posted July 8, 2012 I'd like to keep it under $100 per night.
thereuare Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 A win at $100 is certainly not a sure thing for these dates, but i do think you have a chance (i'm guessing somewhere between the $95-$115 area) so it's up to you if you'd like to bid higher OR try for a 3.5* property... a lower rated hotel may save you about $10-$20.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and how we can be of further help. traini Posted July 9, 2012 Author Report Posted July 9, 2012 Dang it! Went up to $90 for a 3.5*, then up to $95 for a 4*. After 70 bids over the past two days, I got nothing. I ended up going with a Hotwire hotel. I'll post my winning bid over there.Oh well. I'll get 'em next time!
