When is the best time to place my bid?
thereuare Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!1. Is it possible to find a room within my budget?Possibily... it'll be close.2. What is good max bid for at least a 3* hotel.Note that when bidding 3.5* and lower:MTE - some 'known' hotels can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway... is this acceptable?CPS - has the Hudson Hotel, which while well located, has notoriously small rooms (~140 sq. ft.).. is this acceptable?Should we include these zones in your bidding? Did you want to try for a higher rated hotel first (if still available for $150 or less) OR is the goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay?Exactly which zones, by PRICELINE name, are you willing to accept?3. When is the best time to place my bid?I would begin now, but for a further discussion on this subject see the related 'Bid Early or Close to Check-in' link in our PRICELINE FAQ.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the information above and we'll take it from there. rosales_mi Posted July 6, 2012 Author Report Posted July 6, 2012 I was able to get a room at the millenium hilton in the financial district. A 4* hotel for the price of $145/nt. Over half off the listed price! I called the hotel about the availability of 2 beds. I was told they have rooms available but unfortunately they are not able to modify a priceline reservation. I was directed to contact priceline directly to make the change. Is this how I should make a request for 2 beds?
AaronJB Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Congrats on your success. :)Definitely a very nice win for this Hilton property. PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy - you can call PRICELINE and see what they say/if they can contact the hotel.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
