annemariew Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 Finally took the plunge at trying to bid for a hotel. Researched a bit and thought I was prepared.Got the Courtyard by Marriott (Birmingham AL) after a few other nearby city tries.Bid was for $50 per night and the total cost with taxes, fees and travel insurance= $70.90Was hoping to get the Hyatt Place in Hoover as that was the most frequent recent winner in the area or the Sheraton in Central Birmingham. The Marriott has subpar reviews on Trip Advisor and I am a bit nervous about that. Any tips to make it a positive experience?...especially when some of the reviewers said they treated Priceline bidders unfairly? Can't get out of a bid correct? :)Thanks for any help!Anne Marie
