AaronJB Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 My guess would be the Hilton Towers.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
klg Posted June 29, 2012 Author Report Posted June 29, 2012 is this a good deal- would there be any way we would get a double bedthe essex inn is listed for 129 and i know i will get a double bed?
AaronJB Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 The Essex wouldn't be the same quality level. How many people are you searching for on HOTWIRE? Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
klg Posted June 29, 2012 Author Report Posted June 29, 2012 4 adults and 4 kids...that deal is gone now :(
AaronJB Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 Let me see what else I can find - be back momentarily. How many rooms were you looking for?
AaronJB Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 When I search for 2 rooms/4adults/4 children, there's a 4* in the Downtown/Loop/Millennium Park zone for $125 w/4-star Hotel in Downtown Chicago - Millennium Park - Grant ParkThis Hotel features the following amenities:Smoke Free Rooms Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but if you click "see details" to go to the detail page, you should see a tripadvisor logo and 4.5/5 circles shaded - double check that you are also seeing that as well. The mystery property does get good reviews, and may be something like the Radisson Blu Aqua or Blackstone Renaissance. Either way, a preferrable option over the Essex for the same price. If you are searching for more than 2 people per room on HOTWIRE, you should get some form of bedding for the entire party (that is commonly 2 beds, but can be 1 + sofabed or other combo.)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
klg Posted June 29, 2012 Author Report Posted June 29, 2012 mcProb b/c i was looking for a pool for the kiddos- how far is mccormick?
AaronJB Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 Pretty far - definitely not walkable to downtown and really not much at all around it. The only known 4* in that area is the Hyatt McCormick. The Hilton Suites is $154 for king suites w/1 king + sofabed on hotels.com, plus SUMMER40US10 is a coupon for 10% off. I'm also seeing what looks to be the W Lakeshore on HOTWIRE for $167 and the Doubletree for $139. Let us know if either of those would be of interest.Thank you for using the site's Hotels.com, HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

klg Posted June 29, 2012 Author Report Posted June 29, 2012 I will share this site.. in fact already did- great idea!Any tips on parking in the area?Yeah- i am going to call to see about getting a double bed and our rooms close to each other. Does the front desk know we booked HOTWIRE? do we get the same treatment?
AaronJB Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 Navy Pier is a few minutes walk East of the hotel and parking there is around $20-25 a day. You can contact the hotel (although you may want to give it a few hours) to request bedding and rooms close to each other.
AaronJB Posted June 30, 2012 Report Posted June 30, 2012 Let me know likes/dislikes and more about what you're looking for and I'd be happy to offer suggestions.

LOL!big group.Nothing too fancy- a fun place with good food- Some places with local flare would be more of our interest.. not some much type. We like it all. LOL!We have one vegetarian but she can usually find something where ever we go..Some places within walking distance to the double tree would be nice.. I have driven in downtown Chicago but not my favorite thing to do... the taxi cab drivers are crazy.. LOL!
