thereuare Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages.I haven't fully research your dates yet, but given this time of year, i suspect that your budget will likely fall short for a 4* hotel. However, let's first get you up to speed on determining your re-bid zones, we'll have you bid up to your limit, and we'll re-access if not successful. To begin, when bidding 4* in NYC you have SEVEN re-bid zones. This should be double checked before every bidding cycle so it's important to know how to check them yourself to make sure that nothing has changed since you last looked. See this thread, Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, on how to determine your re-bid zones and see if you can confirm them with the board. If you don't understand the information in the previous link just post back and we'll break it down further for you, otherwise confirm your SEVEN re-bid zones with the board and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. murilodf Posted June 28, 2012 Author Report Posted June 28, 2012 Tks, re-bidding fully understood!Which budget you think would be appropried for this time of the year (september) for a 4* ou 3¹/²*?
AaronJB Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 Based on the rates that I'm seeing for these dates, I'd guess for a 4* in Manhattan, you're likely looking at $190-225+ (depending on zone) in Midtown, possibly mildly less in Downtown-Soho. Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
murilodf Posted June 29, 2012 Author Report Posted June 29, 2012 Tks again!Any idea on how much would it be for a 3 1/2 * ?
thereuare Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 I think you're looking at the same range as above... the 4* being closer to the higher end of the range, a 3.5* near the lower end of the range.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. murilodf Posted June 29, 2012 Author Report Posted June 29, 2012 Thanks!Yes, I would like to proceed!Could you help me with the strategy?
thereuare Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 What did you want to try for first... a 4* hotel or a 3.5*, and at what maximum bid amount? Also if bidding note that when bidding 3.5* and lower in NYC:MTE - some 'known' hotels can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway... is this acceptable?CPS - has the Hudson Hotel, which while well located, has notoriously small rooms (~140 sq. ft.).. is this acceptable?Should we include either/both of these in a 3.5* bidding strategy? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. murilodf Posted June 29, 2012 Author Report Posted June 29, 2012 Wecan try 3,5* first! Is that ok?Thanks for the info! I think it would be better to exclude this two areas (MTE and CPS).
