jms007bnd007 Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 I'm trying to book 3 rooms for 3 nights (8/2-8/5) on the Las Vegas strip. Don't care if its north or south, just needs a nice pool. I'd like a 4* if possible. I'm wondering if you think a budget of $60 per room, per night, is enough. What do you think? Thanks!
thereuare Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 $60 is in the right ballpark, but at the low end of the range of expectations, it may take a bit more (within another $10-$20 i would think should be enough)... no way to know for certain until we give it a try.Are you ready to bid now? If so, let us know your maximum bid (do you want to keep it at $60 or bump it a little)... we will of course start lower so no need to worry that by raising your maximum bid you'd miss out on a lower priced deal. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and please click each of these links before replying. Thanks! jms007bnd007 Posted June 27, 2012 Author Report Posted June 27, 2012 Clicked both links! :)Yep, ready to begin bidding right now. Lets push the limit to $70 for now. What would you suggest for my bid increments? Thanks!
thereuare Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 Don't care if its north or south, just needs a nice pool.Assuming you're willing to accept any 4* hotel in the Strip North or Strip South zone (without regard to your opinion of the pool):At the 4* level you have FOUR re-bid zones. jms007bnd007 Posted June 28, 2012 Author Report Posted June 28, 2012 Wow, awesome. Thank you so much for the help. I'll follow the steps and let you know if I hit paydirt.
jms007bnd007 Posted June 28, 2012 Author Report Posted June 28, 2012 At the 4* level you have FOUR re-bid zones. I see 5 rebid zones for Vegas at the 4* level:BoulderHendersonNW Las VegasNellisSummerlinAm I missing something?
thereuare Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 Summerlin is NOT a re-bid zone. The star rating you select is the minimum you are willing to accept, so while Summerlin does not offer 4* bidding, it does offer 'Resort' class bidding (which is viewed as a 4.5* property in the star rating hierarchy)... therefore Summerlin is NOT a re-bid zone when bidding 4* since if you include this zone your 4* bid could be upgrade to a Resort property, and you could end up in Summerlin.Does that clarify it?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. jms007bnd007 Posted June 29, 2012 Author Report Posted June 29, 2012 Phew, I'm glad I asked. I have been using Summerlin for the past week. I'm glad I didn't end up there. Thanks again.
