freedspirit Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 I'm new to this site... Trying to pick the best of the below 3 options and keep under $100. Needing to be near mid-Strip to see shows in Paris, Flamingo, Mirage. Leary of Strip South d/t Luxor being 4-stars and poorer reviews.Has anyone seen advantage to booking Hotwire over Priceline?I've used Hotwire and Priceline over the years with success... this seems to take more guesswork out of it.5-star Hotel in The Strip - North $94 ($170 other sites, 90% recommend), Resort Fee $30This Hotel features the following amenities:Spa ServicesResortSmoke Free RoomsFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessGolf NearbyTennis NearbyKitchenetteFree Parking4-star Hotel in The Strip - North - $80 (other sites $113, 80% recommend), Resort Fee $25ResortCasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa ServicesAccessible for the blindAccessible for the deafFree ParkingAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in shower4-star Hotel in The Strip - South - $86 (other sites $121, 85% recommend), Resort Fee $20ResortCasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterGolf NearbyAccessible for the deafFree ParkingFree InternetAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityWheelchair accessibleAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in shower
freedspirit Posted June 25, 2012 Author Report Posted June 25, 2012 Started at $65 with LV Strip North (7) and LV Strip Vicinity South (9).Then $70 adding LV Strip Vicinity North (8).... still no go.Read strategy as suggested on this site, added Boulder Strip since there wasn't a 4-star/resort option and bid $75.This is lower than Hotwire, which I think had Treasure Island, 4-star, at $80 (Strip North). This is over $200 less than booking through Travelocity with their summer sale price!Remember Resort Fee of $25 + $3 tax = $28/night, which I was already prepared to pay up at check-in. B) :P
thereuare Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!Has anyone seen advantage to booking Hotwire over Priceline?PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE, but HOTWIRE gives you the ability to take a guess as to the hotel you may receive (as well as choose a hotel with certain amenities, such as a Pool, if some characteristics are important to you for a given stay)Best guess for each:5-star Hotel in The Strip - North $94 ($170 other sites, 90% recommend), Resort Fee $30Trump 4-star Hotel in The Strip - North - $80 (other sites $113, 80% recommend), Resort Fee $25Treasure Island with less likely chance of the Mirage4-star Hotel in The Strip - South - $86 (other sites $121, 85% recommend), Resort Fee $20TropicanaPlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
