wishing2008 Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 4?? Star Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort, 8/21-8/26, 5 Nts., $47/nt.,$235/$283.10 Tl.Started bidding at $40 with $10 PL bonus cash/nt. Got it for $47 & $10 bonus cash. Hotel charges $10/nt. resort fee & $10? Self parking fee. The hotel website quotes $79/nt. for my same stay. Also, I figured out that Hotwire had the same hotel for $65/nt.I have never been to WDW and was hoping to get a very nice resort/4 star hotel for a low price since most kids go back to school around the 3rd week of school. I just read the Trip Advisor for the SLBV and I'm a little anxious that it won't be that great. Initially I started out bidding resort to $67+$10 bonus cash--nothing. Out of bids, I went for the 4 star. I would have paid more for a nicer hotel, but you get what you get. It'll be really interesting to see how far this hotel has come from a 3 or 3.5 star rating to actually be a 4?? star hotel!I probably bid too early bid, but I got one day only PL Bonus cash that expired yesterday and I was rushing to bid--sorry forgot to bid through BB site.Next time if I go again around the same time, what would you suggest I bid? And when should I bid 6 weeks out or less?
AaronJB Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 Congrats on your success. :)Pretty fantastic rate for this property in late Summer. Hopefully the property will exceed expectations. Bidding is really a case-by-case basis, and purchase timing is discussed in greater detail in the FAQ. Thank you for letting us know about the change in star rating for this property so that we can update the site's Priceline Hotel List. Please note that you can still use your Bonus Cash along with the board's PRICELINE links as follows...1) click the PRICELINE link on the board2) go to the MY PROFILE >> MY REWARDS link at the top right of their home page3) use the bonus money link in the MY REWARDS section of your profile (not a link from an email) and bid as usualEnjoy your stay.
KelleyV Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 This is a great resort. I wouldnt read too much into reviews. I won a "bid" a year ago and immediately went to trip advisor and read horrid reviews about dirty rooms, bugs, broken furniture, smell etc... It was only for one night before I checked into Disney's Polynesian Resort. When I got there, it was wonderful! I enjoyed it just as much as the Poly and if I had know it was that nice, I would have saved a ton of $$ and split my stay between the 2 places. Keep in mind these resorts have 150+ guests per day and only 1 write a review. People generally complain more than they compliment. You will have a great time! I am going to Disney again in October for 10 days. 5 days at a Disney resort, and 5 off a priceline bid!! You cant go wrong with a 4 star anywhere!

wishing2008 Posted July 4, 2012 Author Report Posted July 4, 2012 Hi KelleyV, Thanks for letting me know about your stay at the Sheraton LBV! I'm glad that it was good. Your comments helped assuage some of my fears about this hotel. I really appreciate your input! I figure we're going to stay at the Sheraton LBV for 5 days and if it's nice then great. If not, it's okay too because we have Starwood Pts. which we're going to use for The Swan for the last 3 days of our 8 day trip. I hope that you have a great WDW trip too in Oct.!
