Priceline Hotel: Need bidding advice - 3 star NYC Jul 22

Hi,

Been visiting the forum for quite some time and using the PRICELINE link but never posted. Wanted to post a Q for the experts.

I need a hotel in NYC for 1 night, Jul 22nd. I am arriving with my gf and brother, so ideally the room will have space for 3. I considered hotwire (due to them guaranteeing 3 people unlike priceline), but when looking up the hotels that I would get, I see it's usually 2 doubles, or 1 double 1 single. I decided to look at priceline and take my chances - either I'll get a hotel that offers an additional bed or I'll lug an inflatable mattress. Comments re: my conclusion are welcome

Would $100-120 be enough of a bid for a 3/3.5* hotel in NYC for that sunday evening? If so, are there areas I should avoid? Walking to the subway isn't a problem as we'll be there for just 1 night, but the room size probably will make it more difficult to accommodate us 3

We're glad to hear the board has been helpful to you for 'quite some time', but it's disappointing that this your first post. It would be appreciated if you began to post all your wins to the board so that the information can help others, just as you have been helped by those who posted before you.

For rooms that do have two beds (many do not) two doubles is probably more the norm, along with a Q/K bed with a pullout sofabed... i don't think 'single' beds are that common anymore, especially not at the higher rated hotels.
