Priceline Hotel: Loews Miami on Priceline

Hi...I am trying to figure out how I could possibly bid and get the Loews Hotel in Miami Beach. When I put in my dates of November 5-8, the only resort on priceline that shows up is the Loews....when I look into naming my own price, the only area that you can choose resort, which the Loews is classified as, is Miami Beach. It does say Miami Beach next to the Loews Resort where you can just pay the asked rate on Priceline, but I am confused because I thought that the Loews should be in the South Beach area. Not sure whether to take a chance or not.....Any ideas?

The Loews is a Resort property in the (South Beach - Collins Avenue Oceanfront) zone. There may only be one 'resort' class property reported to the board in this zone and/or only one resort class property showing on the retail side of PRICELINE, but this does not guarantee that this is the only resort property offered in the zone... you could win a hotel that does not participate in the 'retail' side of PRICELINE and there could be other resort class properties not yet reported to the board (or a previously reported hotel upgraded to the Resort level since last reported)

You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.
