stphn227 Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 Hi, this is my first time using this site and priceline. I'm looking to check in on 7/27 and check out 7/29. I read the re-bidding thread, so if I understand this correctly i'm seeing re-bid zones for 4* as follows: Boulder Strip, Henderson, NW Las Vegas, Nellis, and Summerlin. My limit is roughly $100 per night, am I delusional thinking i'll get less than that for 4* south strip on a weekend? What should I start my bid at? And is there any way at all (pricepoints or otherwise) to avoid the Tropicana? Thanks in advance for any help!
thereuare Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 ...so if I understand this correctly i'm seeing re-bid zones for 4* as follows: Boulder Strip, Henderson, NW Las Vegas, Nellis, and Summerlin.Summerlin is not a re-bid zones... the star rating you choose on PRICELINE is the minimum you're willing to accept, and as Summerlin contains 'Resort' class properties a 4* bid which includes this zone could be upgraded to a Resort class property here. However, you do have a 4th re-bid zone available here, take another look and see if you can determine the 4th re-bid zones and/or ask for help.My limit is roughly $100 per night, am I delusional thinking i'll get less than that for 4* south strip on a weekend? What should I start my bid at? And is there any way at all (pricepoints or otherwise) to avoid the Tropicana? It's the summer which is slow season in Las Vegas so you do have a chance at a bit below $100 for a 4* hotel. However, the Tropicana is certainly one of the possibilities at this star level. Is Strip South the only zone you're willing to accept as i think you may be able to get a 4* hotel in the Strip North zone for ~$100 (the Treasure Island is seen most frequently in this zone, and the Mirage is a second possibility as well).. would this be of any interest as it would enable you to successfully avoid the Tropicana. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. stphn227 Posted June 19, 2012 Author Report Posted June 19, 2012 Ok, so I ended up with Treasure island at $100 per night. Probably could have gotten less, but here's what I did. Las vegas strip vicinity south - $80 - rejectedadded Boulder Strip - $85 - rejectedadded Henderson - $90 - rejectedadded NW Las Vegas - $95 - rejectedadded Nellis - $100 - rejectedadded Strip North - $100 - accepted.I would think I could've ended up with TI for less if I had added Strip North in the beginning, but that's a learning expreience I suppose.
