Started bidding almost a week ago: Usually only using the Sunnyvale and Santa Clara areas, 3-star hotels, and in the $50 range. All failed.

Today's cycle went like this:

Cupertino-Campbell: 3-star, $45 (total of $110.34 with fees). Failed.

Add Fremont zone, raised bid to $47 (total of $114.94). Failed.

Add Newark zone, kept bid at $47 (total of $114.94). Successful bid at this Residence Inn.

Reviews on Trip Advisor lately aren't so nice but I'll have to see how things go - this is purely a pleasure trip so the business needs may not be paramount. I'm a fan of Residence Inns but all it takes is one to spoil the bunch. :)
