Priceline Hotel: 4* Amsterdam (City Center) Movenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre

Just won another stay here, which is becoming the default 4* win in Amsterdam.

As always, used BetterBidding.com.

* Began bidding City Center at $70.

* Rebid in increments of $2 or $3, using different combinations of zones other than the Airport zone.

* Bid accepted at $83 w/ no counteroffers.

* $83 was my last bid, and then I was going to move to Hotwire.

I realize that raising bids on other zones that aren't free rebid zones isn't optimal stragically, I assumed that the chance of a bid in Central Canals or Museum Quarter was low at these prices anyway. And I was right.

$$$ Comparison

* Hotwire rate was $87 for this property. Hotwire's taxes and fees were lower, so it actually is a wash.

* Retail price for the Movenpick is now currently $229.
