I want to book the Hyatt Kauai from Aug 4-11, any help would be appreciated.

Priceline:

$162 bid,

Any advice if either of these are the Hyatt? Can i book one night to see, then if it is book the rest of my trip?

For the HOTWIRE property, I don't think this is likely the Grand Hyatt... my guess is that this is the Sheraton Kauai, upgraded from the last time it was reported to the board at the 3.5* level.

For PRICELINE, are those listed as 'guaranteed amenities' next to this star rating when bidding on 'name your own price' OR is that property listed under the 'Express Deals' section of their website?

The following are the guranteed amenities in the "name your own price" section. It is the only RESORT listed in Poipu which leads me to believe it may be the Hyatt, but not sure!!!

The 'Guaranteed Amenities' shown in the bidding side of PRICELINE are amenities that are common to all hotels in the zone at this star rating... not a specific hotel that you'd be bidding on.

If you bid on PRICELINE you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating, or higher, that you select.

FYI - I've been wathcing the Hyatt for some dates in October and yesterday the advertised Priceline price was $402 a night and this morning it dropped to $330. I would assume their price for name your own bids was lowered, as well so hopefully will be lucky today.

I'd venture a guess that this is more likely a date specific price change and not an across the board rate change, so your October dates may have little to do with the OP's dates in August.
