SeattleRedBear Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 We just needed one night at Heathrow in transit from Bulgaria to Seattle.First bid: $42 3* (not accepted)Priceline suggested bumping up to $54. Instead, I changed level (I felt relatively safe doing this as better bidding did not have any Heathrow 2* listed)Second bid: $48 2* (accepted)Hoiday Inn M4 (listed as 3*)$48.00 + $15.77 = $63.77 totalI'm pretty pleased with this as Holiday Inn M4 is very well reviewed on tripadvisor.com and the rate is *much* cheaper than the tripadvisor reviewers paid. In addition, I found out the number of the free city bus to take from the airport to the hotel, so no need to get on the Hoppa. Yeah! So, the maps function is *really* great. How long before you have more cities up?Also, just wanted to comment on the thread about breaking things apart. I agree with the moderator completely that people can use the search function to usually find what they're looking for quite easily and that creating new forums really should be dependent on the size of the forum and not the needs of individual users.
thereuare Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Thank you for posting and sharing your winning bid with the rest of the board.Regarding the MAPS, London and Minneapolis are next. We currently have the raw data on both, but it needs to be coded for the maps. As far as adding other cities, we will do it as time allows, but mostly need more hep from users to offer to compile the raw data.Enjoy your trip.
