EIFFE0925 Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Hi guys!!! Newbie here...I have been lurking around, and so glad that I came across this forum. You guys are amazing!!! I have learned so much in the past few weeks. My husband & I are going to NYC to meet some other couples, I'm really excited bc this will be our first "Grown up" trip without kids :)... The couples we are meeting are staying @ W 57th street. Based on that address our options are Central Park South, Midtown West and TS. I would love to stay at a 4* hotel, but willing to lower to 3*-3.5*. We would like something decent, affordable and not too far from our friends.Do you guys think $150/night is realistic? I have read some winning bids around this price for the Sheraton NY Hotel and Towers and the Hudson, a Morgans original. If so, please help me come up with a bidding strategy. Please let me know if you need to know anything else.Thank you in advanced!

EIFFE0925 Posted June 18, 2012 Author Report Posted June 18, 2012 Thanks. I've clicked the links and read very useful information. I need your input now to start working on my strategy!!
thereuare Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 At the moment i'm doubtful that $150 will be enough for a 3* or better hotel... at the 3* level you're likely looking at ~$180-$200... a 3.5* for $200-$220... and a 4* at $250+. We can suggest a strategy for whatever star rating and amounts you'd like, but the above is the ballpark bid amounts i think you're looking at to be successful for these dates.Using BiddingHelper.com what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels?Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
