MegaMan Posted August 30, 2011 Author Report Posted August 30, 2011 So going to Vegas with friends soon, looking at the 09/16-09/18 weekend. Most of the hotels on the strip are about 400 total for the weekend so we're looking for cheaper options. So far the best we've found is Best Value at 134 (67 a night). But they want something better on the strip. Because they're broke college students (I'm the only one with a job...), our range is about 100-125 a night. I'm looking into Priceline but I don't want to exactly commit to an hotel since it's not just my money that's why I gotta do a lot of research. One thing that worries me is that the areas it has include areas off the strip.Any tips to get a good hotel on the strip? How should I start my bidding? Is there a list of the stars the hotels have? Thanks in advance!
thereuare Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread, if you ultimately use PRICELINE we'll move the entire thread to that section of the board.Best guess for the 3* property above is Circus Circus, but if you're interested in the Stratosphere i believe it can be booked for ~$115/nite for your dates. If you're ready to book now and are interested in the Strat let us know and we'll advise accordingly. You can see a list of the hotels reported to the board thru PRICELINE in this Priceline Las Vegas Hotel list. However, keep in mind that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and it appears you may be seeking more than two per room.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. MegaMan Posted June 15, 2012 Author Report Posted June 15, 2012 Resolution to this thread:Told my friend about Hotwire/Priceline and he unilaterally booked the Palazzo for around $200 a night through Priceline (no direct link :(). Was a bit mad because they had told me a different price point otherwise I would have looked for good deals on 5 star hotels. Seeing at other bids, 200 a night is not that much of a deal lol. Though that friend didn't use a direct link, another friend has used this forum's advice/DL on 2 of his trips due to the original booking.
thereuare Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Thank you for closing this thread. Please remember to follow-up your threads with whatever you end up doing for the stay, even if you choose to book direct, cancel your trip, etc. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
